We are looking forward to welcoming our students back tomorrow. Whether we’ll get to see them In-Person or through Distance Learning, we are excited to get the year started. We’ve worked hard to put together a plan that strikes the right balance of normalcy and memorable experiences; while ensuring the safety of our students, families, and staff. We realize it won’t all be perfect and ask that you bear with us as we make adjustments along the way. There are a few things that we want to share with you that will be different.
It’s going to be a great year.
- We ask that you screen your child daily for COVID-19 symptoms prior to their arrival at school. We are attaching that screener for your reference. We will take the temperatures of our students on a daily basis. You will see us completing this task at the entrances on Thursday and Friday morning. Beginning on Monday, teachers will take temps as students enter their classrooms at the beginning of each day. If a student has a temperature at or above 100.4, we will isolate them and call for you to come to get them.
- We’ve added time to our instructional day at all campuses. We need the extra time to make up for lost instruction last spring as well as allow for plenty of minutes to meet TEA requirements. These additional instructional minutes will be critical in the event we have to close campuses for a period of time because of an outbreak. We will be very flexible with students as families make this adjustment.
- In the first week, we will spend more time on day-to-day routines with our students. It will take some time to get our remote learners enrolled in many of the software programs that they’ll be utilizing during this time as well. Please hang in there with us as this is time-consuming work.
It’s going to be a great year.
Thank you and Go TR1BE!
